A certified public accountant and retired banker from Tanzania, Shafi has spent decades in accounting practice and banking supervision. He served in leading roles at the Bank of Tanzania and Akiba Commercial Bank before retiring early to pursue entrepreneurial ventures focused on economic empowerment.
His personal struggles in affiliate marketing sparked the idea for Digital Shopping Mall — a system that rewards members not only for direct sales but for creating opportunity through a ten-level affiliate income structure. He also developed the Kaluta Projection Methodology, a simplified financial planning model for everyday entrepreneurs.
Shafi created Maskani Yetu to help groups buy in bulk. It was a promising idea, but technical and financial challenges halted progress.
He refined the concept with blockchain and crypto pricing, proposing it to a partner company. The execution failed to meet his standards.
He partnered with a dedicated blockchain developer from the UK to bring the full vision to life – now known as Digital Shopping Mall.

Members who recommend a deal to be onboarded for sale on the Digital Shopping Mall receive a recommendation commission for each unit of the recommended deal sold on the platform. The commission is capped as follows:

A DSM DME earns a commission for each unit sold from their closed deals with suppliers on the DSM platform, with a maximum cap of USD 100,000 per deal.
DSM Founding Members are allocated Kaluta Donation Points (KDPs), which they can donate to needy individuals in their communities as part of an effective, member-led global poverty eradication initiative.
Pre-launch members purchase shopping points in advance. These will be redeemable after launch, offering real value at a fraction of the cost.
